The final edition of the Khronos WebGL 1.0 specifications-computer graphics world

WebGL defines JavaScript binding for OpenGL ES 2.0 provides rich 3D graphics in the browser on all platforms that support the standard OpenGL or OpenGL ES graphics API. WebGL has the support of large silicon and build the browser vendors such as Apple, Google, Mozilla and Opera, with multiple browsers already expedition with WebGL implementations, including beta releases for Mozilla Firefox 4.0, all feeds Google Chrome 9.0, Opera Preview, and Apple Mac OS Safari nightly build.

WebGL is OpenGL ES graphics Accessibility 2.0 on almost all browsers that support desktop, mobile and embedded platforms and the latest Web development technologies, including JavaScript performance. Web developers to access OpenGL graphics directly from JavaScript and wild mix of 3D with other content HTML, potentially enabling a new wave of innovation in Web games, educational and training applications and graphically rich user interface with more pleasant, productive and intuitive Web site.

A living ecosystem middleware about WebGL provides a wide diversity of Web developers the ability to create compelling 3D content for browsers that support WebGL. These tools include: C3DL, CopperLicht, EnergizeGL, GammaJS, GLGE, GTW, O3D, the OSG.JS, SceneJS, SpiderGL, TDL, the Three .js and the X3DOM.

In addition to the WebGL specification, Khronos has created a comprehensive set of WebGL experiment, which can be downloaded free of charge. Implementers of WebGL-browser may run a test suite and save their completion of the test results in order to be able to specify their implementation as appropriate specification of WebGL.

"Nvidia helped form the WebGL initiative, we believe that it fundamentally changes the Web experience and we are committed to provide the optimal experience WebGL across graphics Quadro and GeForce to a desktop computer and based on Tegra Tablet and superphones," says Neil Trevett, President of the Khronos Group and Vice President of mobile content at NVIDIA. "Khronos WebGL working group is uniquely productive forum, brought together the browser and the GPU vendors. Khronos is committed to working with the Web community to ensure that webgl is a dynamic and enabling a piece of the ecosystem of the Web with HTML5 for desktop and mobile platforms. "

Khronos is also announced the formation of a working group of the WebCL survey, the definition of the link JavaScript Khronos OpenCL standard for heterogeneous parallel computing.  WebCL creates the potential for the GPU and multi-core CPU parallel processing from your Web browser, enabling acceleration of applications, such as image and video processing and modern physics for WebGL game.
