Hands on Opera Mobile, Opera Mini 6 11-CNET (blog)

Opera Mobile is optimized for the tablets. We tried it on the Motorola Xoom.(Credit: Opera)

Opera last week announced it would launch two new mobile browser at CTIA – Opera Mobile and Opera Mini 6 11 – but when it came to the new and improved features, mostly silent.

We're lucky to get into the hands of the Assembly Preview before performances and can share much more about what is in store for the Opera in mobile phones and tablets.

Opera Mobile and Opera Mini 6 11 see some changes.(Credit: photo by Jessica Dolcourt/CNET)

Starting with the interface, the browser Opera Gets a bump on the sophistication of the already graphically rich display. Opera faithful have some subtle changes--to give up his header shaved the Opera browser, icon settings changed in the Opera "O" icon, and search engine selector also stepped into the search field.

The sharing menu shortcut is a new feature to hit duo of the browser. Press the "O" icon screen options, arrives. In addition to bookmarks, history, settings, downloads, and so is the ability to share via email, text, Twitter, Facebook and other social networks.

You can also pinch zoom across the Board on all compatible devices supported by both versions of the browsers. Click to zoom in before sometimes had to. Opera says that strengthened also scrolling, panning and zooming.

Opera is also jumping on the Tablet crazy tuning Mini and mobile for a larger screen of the tablet. The Motorola Xoom (running Android 3.0 honeycomb) that it loaded, Opera Mobile looks almost the same as on Android smartphone, except that the navigation bar moves up.

Overall Opera worked quickly and smoothly, with only two exceptions. The Opera had no problem loading Web pages, but we found (Chow.com) whose loading width must have confused a browser because the image of rhythmically pulled back and then expanded, until we're tapped. (Chow.com is part of CBS Interactive, which also publishes CNET.) Further, while the problem is that Opera Mobile has not been properly loaded the Web page we need to verify at CNET public Wi-Fi. We had to open the default browser, before we can take advantage of the Opera. It is a challenge for Opera for years, and one space in its service, which does not affect most people, demonstrates the weakness of that browser of this caliber should.

Opera Mini 6-faster, more condensed version, the proxy will be available on Android, BlackBerry, Symbian/Series 60 and Java (J2ME) mobile phones. Opera Mobile 11-native, stand-alone browser – will be compatible with Android, Symbian, Windows 7 (I think tablets) and MeeGo.

You can download free from the browser in the device app store (it may not be true for all) or browser on m.opera.com. Then let us know what you think about the new Opera Mini and Opera Mobile.

Eclipse sings the melody of the open-web: no frame, no problem-the register

Eclipse Foundation Executive Director Mike Milinkovich wants to make one thing perfectly clear: project Orion is the eclipses.

Project Orion is the effort to the development of the browser, run the Eclipse Foundation, but it has nothing to do with the Eclipse framework, Workbench, favoring the enterprise Java developer for connecting many different third party tools into the framework of a common and open. Orion is not crowd out the Eclipse framework to the browser, and does not make the IDE in the clouds. Nor is built on the same language as the Eclipse. Orion is built on JavaScript, while Eclipse is mostly written in Java.

Orion focuses on building JavaScript, with HTML5 and CSS applications for mobile web and app stores from the inside of the browsers from Apple, Google, Mozilla and Microsoft.

It seems that there is no sign inside Milinkovich his powerful organisations, who say that I don't understand why Eclipse's project Orion. If you don't get Orion, "it just means that you are not the correct audience Orion," says The reg.

In the ten years since IBM helped establish the Eclipse in 2001 Eclipse made a name as a framework for tool from IBM, Oracle, CA and SAP.

From time to time on the Web, Eclipse was moved. The plugins for languages such as Ruby on Rails and PHP. And he was on the Web tools project, which includes tools for JavaScript development, JavaServer Faces, and Enterprise Java Beans, as well as tools for working with XML, XML schemas, XSL and HTML.

Project organization is training with tools for server-side Java, BI, dependent on the data and applications to the desktop. But Eclipse sprawled as more and more projects are added: from the seven million lines of code in 2006 to 33 million rows in the last year of issue. It is not something you can stuff into the browser.

What is Orion, if this is not an Eclipse? And why is the eclipses turned his attention to the mobile web and app stores?

Orion is to attempt to deliver an integrated platform for building the open Web with HTML5, Javascript, CSS and other technologies, Milinkovich.

Orion to supply more and more JavaScript and HTML tools on the client. Its focus is on building collaboration space for the users of these tools. The first part of the server side was delivered as a beta developers test Monday: Orion hub, Equinox OSGi server built in Java, where to register and create a workspace. Server and client to talk to each other using peaceful API. The Beta version will come as Eclipse is holding its annual EclipseCon in Santa Clara, California.

According to Milinkovich tools that plug the Orion through a browser you can make changes to the code or artifacts on the site and their work reflects across all devs on the project.

This is reminiscent of the style of the creators of the IDE spin Borland Software: development cooperation team to justify the sale of big, fat client, with the IDE to the team server in the server with the changes and the reservation code, flow control and "the improvement of productivity".

Marketing types with this line, cyber crime, and head of app dev bought it, and you get stuck with bad IDEs the encoding that he hated, and every time it's used.

Eclipse helped kill companies such as Borland and forced a realignment of the tools of the market, because his framework code open-source and is freely available. It ended the lock the document to the project by trying to apply the above developers, and partners through their closed and bulky IDEs.

Orion is different. Or install on your PC. It runs in the browser, while the third-party tools to connect via the browser. Milinkovich says that all creators plugin can hook into Orion with a few lines of JavaScript code and a URL for the connection to the server. Building a plugin for working with the Eclipse requires more knowledge of the Eclipse code base. Orion client works in Chrome, Firefox 3.6 and 4.0, Internet Explorer 8 and 9 and Safari 5 and integrates with the browser, such as tabs, bookmarks, sharing URL.

Protect your privacy: search the Web-PCWorld

When browsing the Web, it's as if you have a lot of companies were allowed them to implant a tracking device in his hand and a small camera, recording, where to go and how. Thanks to the advertising networks, search engines, ISPS and social network, your online activities are monitored, analysed, and sells. But it's a few things that you maintain a certain degree of privacy.

Advertising networks

The risk of: advertising networks, such as DoubleClick, Quantcast, Microsoft, Yahoo!, and still others use different techniques to know of pages that you visit and the ads to respond to. They do so in order to precisely target ads, see.

The most common way is by using a tracking cookie, Web bug (small picture or part of the code, which refers back to the advertising network servers and Sets or reads a cookie). Each cookie contains a unique code that identifies your Web browser; in combination with specific information sent by the Web bug, "says the ad network, which Web sites and pages you visit. (These cookies are different from those sites, they watch you locally or retain preference settings).

Tracking cookies are just one ad networks use technology to track the activities. And these networks can only follow you in the event that you visit the Web sites that are participating in the programmes. But because nearly every site now displays advertisements and some advertising networks, can watch and record a considerable part of your use of the Internet.

In the theory of network advertising cookies are anonymous; They monitor your browser, not you personally. However, it may be compared to your name, using things like your IP address. Right now, it's more frightening than dangerous. But after the road, they tied the cookies to you more personally relevant and is used to edit things like prices on products.

Are initiatives to stop or curtail this free-for-all: currently the account disable advertising firms, and other online businesses from the monitoring and the sharing of your personal information is being examined in the context of the US House of representatives and the popular browsers like Firefox and Chrome to experiment with "What is the track" in the framework of their respective applications. Unfortunately, how these strategies are still in early beta, negotiation, and still you must use a more thorough defense protection.

How to protect yourself: mail protection from monitoring-not-track settings in the browser and even the laws mandating not-track registers in motion are the strokes. But as long as such measures to obtain some muscles, you can choose from a large monitoring network by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative Opt-Out page. This industry run Web site checks the system for the tracking cookies from participating advertising networks and allows you to opt-out of one or all at once. It does this by setting the "monitor" cookies, which many business networks. Don't forget to visit this web site on each browser you are using.

The next step is to block cookies from third parties and advertising pages. In Safari's Preferences by > security > accept cookies. Click the check box next to "only from sites I visit" to protect. Firefox go to the Privacy tab in the preferences, select the use custom settings for history from the Firefox Will drop-down and annul the accept cookies from third parties.

You can also use your browser's private browsing mode. Private browsing in Safari (Safari > Private Browsing) is not very efficient, since it still stores the cookies. Firefox (Tools > discretion) imposes less, but still allows you to monitor for a given session, and to stop tracking by IP address.

If you want to really browse under the radar, you will need to install additional Browser Plugins. If you want to start, I recommend Safari AdBlock and AdBlock Plus for Firefox. These supplements to block most of Internet advertising and all embedded monitoring. But they don't want to stop all the monitor. If you want to further strengthen its defense, install the Ghostery for Firefox, Safari or chrome; blocks Web bugs, tracking tags and other methods to monitor more than 200 companies.

Really if you want complete control over your browser, try NoScript for Firefox (best browser security and privacy tool, but it takes a little getting used to) and the extension of the Customs safari Plugin. The only problem is, that may interfere with the way the pages themselves.

As the last provisional use privacy protection tool as MacScan to sweep up any extra information system for monitoring (as well as dangerous spyware and Trojan horses).

Flash cookies

Risk: local shared objects are small text files stored in Adobe Flash, which work much like cookies and often avoid another privacy control. They are very common on main pages and often used for tracking.

How to protect yourself: visit the Adobe Flash Settings Manager online limit, as required by Flash LSOs. In the global storage settings on this page, deselect allow third-party Flash content to Store Data on your computer (to get rid of monitoring). Setting allowable storage space to 0 allows you to manually approve new applications for the LSO.

For more control, I recommend Firefox Add-on module BetterPrivacy. This will delete all LSOs when you exit your browser or after a specified time period. Note that if a lot of Flash games, you might want to allow the LSOs for those sites.

Download IE9 2.35 million times in the first 24 hours-PC Magazine

The new Microsoft Web browser, Internet Explorer 9, was downloaded more than 2 million times since its release in the Monday night, according to the blog to Blog the exploration of the IE.

The Post continues, noted that corresponds to the 27 downloads every second. The adoption of its new browser doesn't bode well for Microsoft, like Google Chrome has effectively kicked into its market share after years of Mozilla Firefox and the same thing.

IE9 corresponds to many Chrome draws, in particular, the speed and a minimalist user interface. Microsoft also adds some of his own unique tricks: hardware acceleration of graphics and the ability to pin card on the server in the system tray in Windows 7. IE9 also includes State-of-function monitoring of protection that is available, allows users to log on to the list of servers known to their profile for targeted marketing.

The latest version of Internet Explorer, however, can only be run in the last two versions of Microsoft operating systems-Windows 7 and Vista-with a view to achieving its hardware acceleration, use these OSes version DirectX multimedia API. This restriction means that its IE9 's ability to grow market share is limited, but the aim is to get people to Microsoft on the newer operating systems.

Last January, Chrome passed the 10 percent of the browser market share, according to figures from NET applications, while all versions of Internet Explorer slipped from 57 percent in the December 2010 56 percent in January 2011. Firefox has stagnated at about 22 percent, but this browser just experienced significantly better, faster and tmavohnedý update Firefox 4.0, which is scheduled to start in the final form, 22. March.

A more detailed look at the new browser, see the full review is the PCMag.com IE9.

Four reasons for Firefox 4 to go – and one reason why it can't. "-ZDNet (blog)

"The operating system and application Interoperability

War on the OS really feel like the browser wars in recent years. Microsoft still has most of the OS market, interoperable with other OSes or not, are still a piece of the market share of the browser. Add-on compatibility is more important than the OS compatibility IMO.

Firefox has the most add-ins, so Yeah, it's still my primary browser.

"Speed"

The rate is rising for all browsers, and the latest versions of all of them are lightning fast.

I think we're going to major wall with optimization, however, as they are very similar in terms of performance.

I found that most of the speed differences are now on the manage window and tabs. Sometimes it takes a while IE9 to open a new window or tab.

There are also some problems with memory usage-different browsers use different amounts of memory. In a system with lots of RAM it's nonsense, but something like a netbook, it may be a major problem.

It seems that Firefox 4 today to be better, but practically could not use 3.x at all and completely switched to Chrome for a while. I hate to say it, but Firefox was in fact one of the worst browsers for a while. Lock memory usage, and brings me to the madness.

"The interoperability of the Web"

I had some problems of the current HTML 5 tests, which cause many people to claim that IE is still behind you. They barely even standard and test clouds unrelated things.

So until I see better tests, I wouldn't compare with HTML 5 support.

"Properties"

This is the main reason why I still use Firefox. Czech support to Firefox addon is great.

I like tab grouping, but I am completely convinced that it is not yet stable. Has some problems. It also has some problems with the performance and memory usage, it seems, but it's a great idea, and I hope to improve it over time.

"but all together it's good enough to return users who have moved back to Chrome, or IE?"

It's done for me. I like chrome, but it is not enough to permanently. As soon as it came out of Firefox 4, I tried it again, and I'm sticking to it.

"I think a lot of people like controls readily available lined up in the upper part of the program, even if the use of screen real estate."

You're right. Like a minimalist UI is somewhat a matter of taste. Many people prefer to have everything what is available, even if that's a bit crowded.

"Today, but I'm afraid his case too little and too late, to the tenderer in 2011."

I think that it remains competitive. I'm not like this "If you're not # 1, you're nothing." logic that ZDNet loves to use. I think that Firefox will remain for some time. I think it will be all right for the three major browsers on the market.

The final edition of the Khronos WebGL 1.0 specifications-computer graphics world

WebGL defines JavaScript binding for OpenGL ES 2.0 provides rich 3D graphics in the browser on all platforms that support the standard OpenGL or OpenGL ES graphics API. WebGL has the support of large silicon and build the browser vendors such as Apple, Google, Mozilla and Opera, with multiple browsers already expedition with WebGL implementations, including beta releases for Mozilla Firefox 4.0, all feeds Google Chrome 9.0, Opera Preview, and Apple Mac OS Safari nightly build.

WebGL is OpenGL ES graphics Accessibility 2.0 on almost all browsers that support desktop, mobile and embedded platforms and the latest Web development technologies, including JavaScript performance. Web developers to access OpenGL graphics directly from JavaScript and wild mix of 3D with other content HTML, potentially enabling a new wave of innovation in Web games, educational and training applications and graphically rich user interface with more pleasant, productive and intuitive Web site.

A living ecosystem middleware about WebGL provides a wide diversity of Web developers the ability to create compelling 3D content for browsers that support WebGL. These tools include: C3DL, CopperLicht, EnergizeGL, GammaJS, GLGE, GTW, O3D, the OSG.JS, SceneJS, SpiderGL, TDL, the Three .js and the X3DOM.

In addition to the WebGL specification, Khronos has created a comprehensive set of WebGL experiment, which can be downloaded free of charge. Implementers of WebGL-browser may run a test suite and save their completion of the test results in order to be able to specify their implementation as appropriate specification of WebGL.

"Nvidia helped form the WebGL initiative, we believe that it fundamentally changes the Web experience and we are committed to provide the optimal experience WebGL across graphics Quadro and GeForce to a desktop computer and based on Tegra Tablet and superphones," says Neil Trevett, President of the Khronos Group and Vice President of mobile content at NVIDIA. "Khronos WebGL working group is uniquely productive forum, brought together the browser and the GPU vendors. Khronos is committed to working with the Web community to ensure that webgl is a dynamic and enabling a piece of the ecosystem of the Web with HTML5 for desktop and mobile platforms. "

Khronos is also announced the formation of a working group of the WebCL survey, the definition of the link JavaScript Khronos OpenCL standard for heterogeneous parallel computing.  WebCL creates the potential for the GPU and multi-core CPU parallel processing from your Web browser, enabling acceleration of applications, such as image and video processing and modern physics for WebGL game.

Microsoft + IE9: Svatější than Apple open site convert? -Register

This is a remarkable turnaround. Microsoft, a company that, more than any other was responsible for the freezing of Web standards, first killing the browser competition, and then update your browser for five years, with the browser, that is-at least-decent.

Internet Explorer 9 combines a hardware-accelerated graphics with the compiler just-in-time for JavaScript and support for some of the new standards, which consists of HTML 5. Also de-cluttered user interface that appears close to the philosophy of Google Chrome: browser gets out of the way Web content or application.

It's not the best browser on Windows. Win every performance test, nor is its support for HTML 5, as extensive as in some browsers. Integration with Windows is strong, as you would expect, and its privacy controls are excellent. Microsoft also has some long-lasting trouble, such as the administration of the primitive downloading in previous versions. IE9 is a download manager, this means that users can easily find their downloads to finish. IE9 is generally good, that using a different Web browser is no longer a clear choice.

The interesting question is "Why"? Microsoft was simply so pissed off that expanded market share for IE that has decided its best efforts to reverse the trend? It is a strategic step unobtrusively to promote Bing search, Bing maps, Microsoft and other Internet services? Or Microsoft experienced a sudden transition to web standard religion?

Remember that the press briefing at Microsoft TechEd Europe around ten years go when asked about the future of IE. The answer I got was that Microsoft, in a position to deliver rich HTML experience users, requested that future investment should focus on the integration of applications with Web services.

A side effect, which Microsoft mentioned, would increase the Windows lock-in one of the reasons why Microsoft competed vigorously with Netscape in the 1990s was that concepts such as Netscape webtop, hosted a workspace browser, the host operating system threatened to neopomíjet. Beat Netscape, and then cold HTML Microsoft protect their application platform.

Today Microsoft has reversed its position and works to Firefox browser almost identical with the native application. Vice Dean Hachamovitch in IE9 Edition notification writes: "with IE9, consumers can keep your Web site to the center of their browsing, the PIN is on the main panel and the interaction with them as they make applications with hardware accelerated HTML5Vývojári can use the same markup across the browser to add a new class of Web experiencethat's more apps than servers. "

Microsoft is not primarily to support Bing or compete with Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. What makes more sense the company recognizes that it must have a wide range of platform alongside Windows succeed in diverse world of mobile devices, and increasing the number of Mac computers and that his efforts.NET and Silverlight are not capable of this wide range of platform.

It seems that in the IE team.NET. Microsoft Professional Developer Conference in Seattle, Washington in the last year, Microsoft Articulated its Internet platform strategy, while hardly ever mentions the browser plugin Silverlight. Further evidence is that Microsoft has all but dropped support for the XBAP INTEGRATION, XAML browser applications Windows host with the desktop.NET Framework. XBAP INTEGRATION are currently disabled in the Internet zone by default and only work in Windows networks.

It may be significant that at the same time, when Microsoft became an advocate of HTML 5, Apple, randomly, or design, it updates its iOS mobile operating system in a manner that protects the benefits of the native application by disabling compiler just-in-time JavaScript for HTML 5 applications, which are held on the home screen.

Apple wins If developers focus their platform alone. Microsoft WINS if the developers focus on Windows only; But it is not a viable strategy, so it is better to promote common standards.

In a sense then Microsoft embrace HTML 5 is a sign of weakness, not strength. At the same time is a significant achievement and one that will increase the browser platform for the entire industry.

Microsoft's browser share may decline, but IE is still the most popular browser globally and will always be popular amongst the enterprise admins group because of its integration with a management tool for Windows. The appearance of the IE9 will be real change on the reach of modern browser hosted applications.

That said, Microsoft as a whole is not United on this issue. It's strange, for example, that the issue at the same time, the developer team has completed the IE9 Beta 2 for Visual Studio LightSwitch, which is designed for rapid development of database applications. LightSwitch goals of Silverlight, and while it's impressive product in a way, it would make sense if it built more HTML applications that run across multiple devices.

LightSwitch illustrates how it is hard to tell the Microsoft strategy. At the same time has several strategies. However, the initiation of the IE9 is crucial moment in the history of the company, leaning from pure clients and toward interdisciplinary Web standards. ®

Browser war to heat up with new products from the Opera-WebProNews

Big news from Google Chrome and Firefox browser war in time of anything, just relax. Norwegian browser Opera has also put his place in the war with a couple of recent announcements. At SXSW WebProNews caught up with Charles McCathieNevile, Opera's Chief standards to talk about the recent efforts of the company.

So firstly, Opera has released a new version of its Opera browser 10 11 beta, which is named "Barracuda." In addition, it is introduced into the beta set of debugging tools called Opera Dragonfly. According to these two events have McCathieNevile great features that the user of the Opera. He said that Opera 11 users can synchronize function, such as Opera unite and connect with their mobile browser enables you to respond to both platforms for bookmarks and other elements.

The company also is making headway in the mobile with Opera Mobile introductions 11 and Opera Mini. Opera Mobile is fully mechanized browser with a new, fast interface, which allows the API. McCathieNevile pointed out that the Opera Mini focused user experience. Opera Mobile and Opera Mini are also optimized for tablets.

All new versions of Opera have improved support for standards as well.

In terms of what Sets Opera apart from competition McCathieNevile explained that users can run the browser to nothing and that their tools include a lot of features.

"It's fast, it's safe, it is compatible with standards, [and] it is a high-quality, modern browser;"and when you dig in it, you can only find a lot more, "he said.

He showed that the company is working in TV, offering also. By the way the Inquirer reports that Opera has just announced the Opera devices 3.0, which is in the latest version of its Web browser for TVs.

Because privacy is always a big issue for those browsers, Opera also work in this area. McCathieNevile said that privacy was "a key issue for a long time" for Opera. User experience at the Opera is encrypted to ensure that the user is not pursued or followed.

While Opera 11 provides users and clearly understand what you are connecting to, the browser continues to work on them helps to better distinguish between trusted servers and secure servers. McCathieNevile also pointed out that the users should have a very simple and clear choice as regards their browsing. In other words, it is necessary to communicate these options so that all users understand.

He said that the Opera will continue to work towards this initiative, because it could be used to increase privacy.

Run the Internet Explorer 6 Apps in IE8 with UniBrows-ReadWriteWeb

Find solutions to the specific needs of the industry or trade in the Centre of Qwest business solutions.

UniBrows, plugin from Browsium, allows users to use Internet Explorer 8 to display only for IE6 servers, was released from the beta today. The idea is to allow undertakings that require IE6 for legacy applications will be able to upgrade to a newer browser version. It would also provide a way to upgrade to Windows 7, which does not support Internet Explorer 6. UniBrows will also encourage the IE9 for a couple of weeks, according to the Browsium in Gary Schare.

Like we said, Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 continues in many enterprises, for various reasons. Many organizations run a third-party or internal applications that require IE6, but are too expensive to upgrade or replace.

UniBrows, in beta version for the last six months, allows the administrator to specify a policy for specific servers that require IE6. IE8 will be used to retrieve these sites UniBrows with IE6 's rendering engine, and older versions of ActiveX components. All other servers will be used in the IE8 rendering engine, and the current version of the ActiveX. Browsium licence several DLLs from Microsoft to achieve this feat. Update: Schare explains that the Browsium or the licence. "Customers to download from the Microsoft Web site by using our training IE6 components."

Alternative approaches include running IE6 in a virtual machine, or you install IE6 on the Terminal Server. The downside is that it requires a license for your copy of Windows, or buy licences corresponding to the detriment of the Terminal server. Browsium will post organisation with 5 000-50 000 users, basic license fee of $ 5000 plus $ 5 per seat. Volume license agreements are available for the larger organization.

Browsium, based in Redmond, WA, and was created last year.

UniBrows runs IE6 Apps in Internet Explorer 8-InformationWeek

On Tuesday announced the launch of the security company Browsium UniBrows, lightweight browser add-on that allows existing Internet Explorer 6 to operate, "as is" in IE8, operating systems, Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7. UniBrows is transparent to end users. If you require IE6 simply loads in IE8.

Backstage manager of the IT administrator to specify configuration UniBrows when should load the plugin IE6, on the basis of individual applications. Also, security restrictions and allow older ActiveX and Java. This security setting are distributed to clients by using UniBrows Group Policy objects in Active Directory.

Who still uses IE6? According to Net Applications, from February 2011, IE6 still amounted to 11% of all browsers, IE8 (35%) and Firefox (18%), but first on IE7 (8%) and chromium (8%). Of course, IE6 usage may not be a choice. "What is clamoring for people running IE6, are clamoring for a way out of it, and stuck to it," said Gary Schare, President and COO Browsium in an interview.

Indeed, IE6 is out of date, unsupported, is a security risk and requires Windows XP. It not only prevents the organization from the upgrade to Windows 7-Windows XP still commands, twice the market share – but also from the installation of a newer version of IE, or by using programs such as Microsoft SharePoint 2010.

Many organizations, however, still rely on numerous client applications in a modern browser. In the meantime, others, bought software from PeopleSoft, SAP, Siebel, Hyperion and niche, vertical industry players, which is no longer supported.

"IE6, browser, which had a 95% market share in one minute, so, all built on him, and he had plenty of social interface. It was revolutionary for its day, "said Schare, who was the project manager for the IE mid IE6 through IE8. He said that while UniBrows beta users welcome from all sectors, there has been a disproportionate amount of the interest of the banking, pharmaceutical and healthcare organizations, because they tend to use a relatively large number of client applications.

It is interesting that Browsium isn't pitching UniBrows as IE6 salve, but also as a "Web application continuity tool, able to stop or resume the IE8, IE7 or IE6 at his last known working state. "A new version of Flash or Java usually requires very fragile Web applications," said Schare. "We'll keep the State of your Web applications platform to a known state, it should be them."

As a result of Microsoft ' with the Monday release of IE9, said to be released version is IE9-comptible UniBrows, in a few weeks, after a further compatibility testing.

Price-Wise for organizations with 5 000 to 50 000 PCs., UniBrows costs $ 5,000 per year, plus $ 5 per seat.

Web 2.0 Expo in the fifth year, now is for the builders of the next generation Web: designers, developers, entrepreneurs, marketers and business strategists. It happens, 28-31. March in San Francisco.

Mozilla issues Firefox 4 today-Computing

Mozilla publishes a popular open-source Web browser Firefox, version 4.0.

Mozilla also had, however, to update this weekend to fix two problems that Mozilla Director Mike Beltzner said, "have caused us two very small and very isolated patch in order to better protect users of the Firefox 4."

The opening comes a week after the what revealed the arch-rival Microsoft Internet Explorer 9.0, and two weeks after Google released its Chrome browser version 10.

Firefox 4.0 supports Linux distributions, Windows (including XP Professional that does not support Internet Explorer 9) and Mac OS X.

It has the graphics hardware acceleration, better JavaScript performance through a new engine, JägerMonkey, based on WebGL 3D graphics and better compliance with Web standards.

Our early tests show the performance of the Web better compliance with the standards, to 97 per cent from 95% to the Web Standards Project's Acid3 test performance and better JavaScript performance, up to 31% on FutureMark's benchmark browser JavaScript guard, since the last version 3.6.15.

Mozilla Firefox 4 Peacekeeper benchmark is still 57 percent slower than Google Chrome 10 Peacekeepers.

The latest statistics from NetMarketShare browser shows a decline in market share for Firefox on one percent during the January to February period, from 22,7% for 21.7 per cent, which Mozilla will certainly hopes that contact with Firefox 4.

IE9 monitors Firefox 4 candidates of "do not track-Computerworld

ComputerWorld-Microsoft yesterday followed the lead of Mozilla by adding support for IE9 for the same technology "What is the track", uses the Firefox 4.

Feature, dubbed "What does not track user preferences" by Microsoft, is another way to allow users to log off from the online monitoring of Web pages and advertising. Firefox 4 – and now IE9 – forward specific information with each page in the HTTP request that a web site that the user doesn't want to be tracked.

IE9 had different technology in place. Called "Monitoring protection" relies on published lists of selectively block third-party sites and content embedded in Web pages.

Microsoft has added to track user preferences-Mozilla says "What is the trail of the HTTP header"-the IE9 between February release candidate build of the browser and on Monday, the last edition.

Privacy experts applauded Microsoft's move.

"The Two technologies are complementary," said Justin Brookman, Director of consumer privacy at the Center for democracy and Technology (CDT). "There is no conflict between the two, and I like their work in tandem."

"The main props in the IE team," said Jonathan Mayer, a graduate student in computer science and law at Stanford University, in a message to Twitter Tuesday. Mayer is one of the two main researchers at Stanford that no trace of a technology that uses the information in the HTTP header generally log off all online tracking.

Microsoft still considers the monitoring of protection like IE9 is the main tool for online monitoring of privacy, butt has suggested that added support for HTTP headers to cover the bases. "We will continue to provide the feature goes beyond the minimum standards that consumers in control of their security and privacy," Dean Hachamovitch, Chief Executive of Microsoft, IE the technical efforts, he said on the blog site later on Monday.

Monitoring protection and HTTP header work very differently. The first uses the lists published by other organizations to actively monitor the content of the ad block. This, however, relies on the Web sites and advertisers to track users to change the code on their end to respond to the request to the do not track.

The decision by Microsoft to add support for HTTP header didn't come as a surprise, the Brookman said, who pointed out to the Redmond, Washington, D.c. developer inserted the function in the February draft W3C (World Wide Web Consortium), the primary standards body on the Web.

Browser add-on Abine Edition not-track-PCWorld

A company that creates tools give greater privacy online has released a free browser extension on Tuesday, which allows you to selectively decide which sites to enable them to follow.

The extension, by Abine, is called the "Do not track Plus" and is compatible with the browser Mozilla Firefox.

The extension uses the proposed mechanism not-track is discussed in the US and elsewhere. The mechanism allows the user to decide behavioral advertising – where the movement of the user in the Internet recorded and monitored – by sending a HTTP header to a Web site providing information to the web site that the user doesn't want to be watched.

So far, the Web sites and ad networks are not employing tracking, but soon it is expected that the company will not accept it, after requests from users for greater privacy when browsing the Internet, said Rob Shavell, co-founder of Abine.

Browser makers have responded to these concerns. The latest Firefox 4 browser, Mozilla supports the not-track mechanism. Your browser is Microsoft Internet Explorer 9 is, what it calls "the Monitoring of protection," which allows users to import the lists of third-party domains, the monitoring of advertising technology, will be blocked. Abine also publishes a list of blocking ads for IE9.

Firefox is to apply, however: using the not function-track blocks all tracing. But it's not Abine trail Plus add-in allows users to selectively decide which agrees with the servers being monitored and the ones that you want to disable, said Shavell.

Not Abine browser add-on, Google Chrome from the companies it was technically impossible to create a custom HTTP header, which is what the trace mechanism relies on, "said Shavell. Made his fortune from online advertising and own Doubleclick, Google, large advertising networks.

The Federal Trade Commission USA supports the not-track mechanism for the consumer. Wednesday's US Senate Committee on Commerce, science and transportation due to the possession and the hearing in Washington, D.C., called the "State of Online Privacy for consumers".

The Committee will address issues of protection of privacy on the Internet, including the collection and dissemination of information, sensitive and private consumers, according to a summary of the hearing.

The move let the Chrome browser has outpaced the competition beat: users of Internet Explorer (IE), Firefox, Safari, and Opera will not receive a Flash update from Adobe next week.

On Monday Adobe announced that the attackers are abuse of error correction, or "zero day" in the Flash Player using a malicious Microsoft Excel documents attached to e-mail messages. Adobe said, that would fix the Flash Player for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux sometimes next week, but did not put the date in the calendar.

Phishers avoid fraud protections Firefox, Chrome-registration

The latest round of phishing attacks, focusing on the customers of the Bank of America and bypass the PayPal fraud protection built into the browsers Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome by attaching a file in HTML spam.

According to M86 researcher Rodel Mendrez locally stored file opens a Web form that collects customer login credentials, credit card numbers and other sensitive information, and then use a POST request is a PHP application to Zap a legitimate web site, which is at risk. The exclusion of the use of more detailed requirements of the phishing page and flies completely under the radar cabin features protection fraud browsers.

"While the POST request sends information about some of the remote Web site, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox did not detect any malicious activity," writes Mendrez. "The month old phishing campaigns will remain undetected, it seems that this tactic is very effective."

There is no technical reason why can't browsers flag URL, which receives the POST request. The growing pile of linen Mendrez assumes that few PHP URL is reported as abusive, the majority of end users due to the technical knowledge required. HTML is not visible, there is little for the average user.

The tactic is similar to the M86 published last month, a self-extracting archive in the embedded email scams and also uses the compromised legitimate Web sites to circumvent the anti-phishing protections.

Fast-food maker Frito Lay, one of the companies, whose page is hacked to host a PHP script, just by the way, he was, says Mendrez. Since then, has been deleted.

There was no mention of how the Microsoft Internet Explorer responds to HTML Forms. ®

A new version of Firefox, IE fight-USA Today

On Tuesday, has released the Microsoft Internet Explorer 9, the latest version of the venerable Web browser. Rival Mozilla just revealed the all but official version of Firefox 4. They both go against Google Chrome always fast and sparse, which was recently updated to version 10. IE, a 57% market share, according to Net Applications, and Add-ons, with almost 22%, are no 1 and no 2. Are browsers I focused on this review and have market shares well before Chrome (about 11%), Apple Safari, and Opera (6%), Europe (2%). But once Microsoft's dominant position has declined continuously for years.People for the modern browsers tout speed; easier navigation, add-ons and extensions; and safety. Point out IE9, Firefox 4, and Chrome 10 flashy embrace Web standards, such as for HTML5.Of course, people often use what is convenient (the default browser on your computer). But even so, those who are überpassionate, about which browser will rely on.I was six months ago, when I first reviewed, but i like enormously impressed IE9 beta. I'm still. The Software is a refreshing jump forward for browser franchise, which has become obsolete. IE9 is a quick and efficient. Web application acts as an application on your computer. Indeed they are blurring the lines.IE9 allows you to "pin" or Park, icons for Windows 7 task bar (the strip of icons at the bottom of the screen). Click on the icon opens the linked Web sites or applications without separately run the browser. If you right-click the icon of the parked location menu appears on the handy shortcuts for certain Web sites what Microsoft calls "Jump lists."Right-click the icon for the Pandora brings, for example, keyboard shortcuts, which enable you to go to the music search Web page or Pandora blog. List of leap for US today, leads to the keyboard shortcuts for the different parts of the paper. Another nice feature of Windows 7: you can "tear" Web page of IE9, drag its tab. If you drag onto the page completely on the left side of the screen, drag a second torn completely to the right of the Web page from the browser, you can compare side by side.Microsoft now performs another backup. One area of emphasis is the monitoring of protection. At the core of this initiative, the monitoring of the protection of privacy: lists, which are a little Web equivalents "do not call" lists aimed at traders. IE9 user can add the lists drawn up by private organizations. Projects are in the right place, these lists are, of course, not perfect.Microsoft added to these lists with not-track user preferences, which effectively sends to the web, that, well, you don't want to be monitored. But it relies on the honesty and integrity of the site for your wishes. Mozilla Firefox 4 and Google Chrome are also backing not-track mechanisms (which the Federal Trade Commission thoroughly monitor). Mozilla promotes universal standard not-track, which would prevent the web site, to track your visit is for advertising purposes. The main drawback for IE9 remains: it won't work for computers running Windows XP, and is still there. And IE9 is compatible with Windows Vista, is actually optimized for use on computers running Windows 7. Firefox 4 has a cleaner interface and simplified menu, with a view to maintaining its focus on the content at hand. Home button is in the upper right of the browser. Cards for the open Web pages sit on Mozilla as a super refers to the Bar – this is where you enter into the conditions, which would you target a Web site that you don't have to remember a Web address or URL. However, Firefox is the only one of the three browsers maintain a separate, dedicated search box--so more reducing than his rivals. You can also easily create a program cards attached to the top of the browser, each representing a Web-based applications, which often call upon, such as Gmail. Mozilla also improved Friendly 4 Add-ons you find and install Add-ons, from the collection numbering more than 200 000. Not all Add-ons 4 changes are intuitive. He was confused by the panorama function, which is easily onto related tabs into manageable groups. You can also synchronize your Firefox history, bookmarks, add-ons, bookmarks and passwords across multiple computers using Firefox 4 beta mobile synchronization, but for the moment is limited to Android Smartphones and tablets and Smartphones, the Nokia N900. IE9 is not synchronous.Mozilla says new Firefox is six times faster than previous versions, and it looked like. Browser innovation can lead to industry gripes.
